About

Welcome to my tasty corner of the world! My name is Natalie and I am a physician living in the southeast US, currently working on my residency training in the field of pathology.

I believe that eating healthfully and feeling your best should not mean a life of deprivation and tasteless food- quite the contrary, actually! Through college, medical school and a busy career as a doc, wife and (new!) mom, I've created many delicious recipes and come up with lots of tricks to maintain my love of food and health in the face of a busy life- and I want to share all of them with you.

My fiancee husband, Steve, is my (mostly willing) culinary captive audience, and I love finding ways to compromise and appease his carnivorous and my herbivorous ways. We recently welcomed our sweet baby boy, Calvin, into the world and I can't wait to start whipping up delicious baby friendly goodies for him once he's old enough! Cooking at the end of a long day for my loved ones will always be my jam, and I hope my recipes and words can inspire you to try your hand at the stove.

  1. I've just discovered your blog and am enjoying browsing. I have identical twin daughters who are in their second year of med school. They both love to cook, and one of them used to say that if she couldn't get into medical school she was going to go to culinary school!

    1. Hi Fran! Wow- twin doctors! That is fantastic. I hope they are enjoying the journey of medical school. It will be interesting to see which specialty they each are drawn to! I greatly struggled with my decision to abandon culinary school for medicine, but it was just my luck that it turns out cooking is a wonderful hobby/creative outlet for us medical types! I'm sure your daughters will be happy they chose the academic path- their pots and pans will always be waiting at home :)
